Initial Release: Aug. 4
Hello, everyone! Welcome, or welcome back to K-Pop Releases! It's a series, where I take a select number of k-pop songs and review them based on my personal thoughts. I'm Grace, and today, we're looking at the songs that released in July! This was a hard month for me to get through. At least, personally - the songs here are fine, aside from two massive duds. I have a tier list, where I rank the songs based on the quality of my own opinions.
Tier Rankings:
0/6 - Crap Tier (hate the song)
1/6 - Bad Tier (still don't like, but could be worse)
2/6 - Mid Tier (boring or just mediocre)
3/6 - Decent Tier (just okay, only check out once in a while)
4/6 - Good Tier (perfectly serviceable)
5/6 - Great Tier (really enjoy)
6/6 - Amazing Tier (completely in love)
Disagreements are fine, but please be respectful of others' opinions. Let's do this!

'HOT SAUCE' by BABYMONSTER
Release: July 1
Label: YG Entertainment
Tier: 4/6
If I had a nickel every time BABYMONSTER dropped a pre-release single on July 1st, I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice so far, right? Seriously, last year, they dropped 'FOREVER', a bop I feel like gets overlooked among this group's catalog.
Let's get back on track. BABYMONSTER are set to release an album in October, and 'HOT SAUCE' is one of the pre-release tracks. Is it better than NCT DREAM's 'Hot Sauce'? Probably, but I'm not too sure yet. What I am sure is that by BAEMON's standards, this is pretty basic.
But that doesn't mean it isn't good, because it is! Let's get the one negative out of the way: Rami's absent here, as she's on a hiatus due to health reasons. It's a shame, because I really like her vocals. So what is 'HOT SAUCE'? It's an '80's hip-hop inspired track, showcasing the girls' rap skills. The song is short (clocking in at about two and a half minutes), but the members do a great job keeping you engaged. Ahyeon, Asa and Chiquita have fun flows in the first two verses. The latter doesn't rap normally, but man, Chiquita really knocks her part out of the park! She brings a lot of sass in her flow, and she brings up a lot of spicy foods into her world play (jalapeño and wasabi come to my mind). I also really like Ahyeon here; something I saw a lot of people complain about last year is how she tends to over-perform, thus overshadowing the other members. That doesn't seem to happen here, as her flow is chill, but she still manages to sound really cool. Asa then comes back for the third verse, and she and Ruka pop off with their fast flows! Then there's the two vocals, Pharita and Rora, and they only really get to shine on the bridge.
I really enjoyed myself, overall! I remember the last time they released a hip-hop-heavy track in 'CLIK CLAK', and my God, it was awful! It tried to sound cool, and it failed miserably (it was a special level of cringe)! This on the other hand, was more playful, a much more fitting vibe for their age range and a breath of fresh air. If this is what BABYMONSTER has in store for that upcoming album, I'm all for it! Keep it up!
'Touch' by KARD
Release: July 2
Label: DSP Media
Tier: 1/6
Last month, I reviewed the new co-ed group, ALLDAY PROJECT, and my opinions on them were really mixed. I briefly brought up KARD and said I liked a couple of their songs...and I think that's only partially true. Yes, they have some good singles, but they're not a group I would consider a favorite of mine. They seem cool, but I feel like something's missing.
KARD are back with a mini album, and its title track isn't very good. Let's get the obvious out of the way: the production on 'Touch' is awful! It's a percussion-heavy track, backed with heavy synths and strings, trying to go for a sensual vibe, but it ends up sounding way too tense for me. Then there's the members, and while the guys in BM and J. Seph have solid rap performances, I'm not a big fan of how Somin and Jiwoo sound here. I like their vocals on the pre-chorus, but they sound so off in the actual chorus! I don't know what they were going for there, but they sound annoying.
Sorry, this isn't for me. If I want to listen to KARD, I'll stick with 'GUNSHOT' and 'ICKY', thank you.
'Deja Vu' by RESCENE
Release: July 2
Label: THE MUZE
Tier: 4/6
Well, RESCENE are back! I reviewed them in February, and while I like them, their previous comeback, 'GLOW UP', left a lot to be desired. 'Deja Vu', thankfully, seems to be better. There's not much to say here; the production has a lovely, dreamy atmosphere, and the girls' vocals are really nice. Not to mention that the hook is really catchy. Give this a song a listen if you haven't. It's really good!
'EXTRA' by JEON SOMI
Release: July 7
Label: THEBLACKLABEL
Tier: 4/6
Jeon Somi... She's pretty good.
Let's backtrack on that a bit. She started out as a member of the project girl group, I.O.I, and she would end up making her solo debut in 2019. While she has a decent amount of bops to her name, she's also capable of making duds. Her debut single in 'BIRTHDAY' had a really annoying drop, and her song from last year, 'Ice Cream', was also really bad (though, the BLACKPINK song with that name is still worse).
Somi is back with a new single, and it's alright. 'EXTRA' goes for a mature vibe, with a laid-back beat and Somi yearning for someone's attention. One thing I like about Somi is her voice; she sings really well, and her vocals sound toned-down, a perfect fit for this production. Though there's one aspect of this track I don't like, and that the run-time is too short! This song is around two and a half minutes long, and it ends abruptly. There could've been a bridge or have some sort of payoff, but no. Oh well; still a good song, otherwise.
'SING ALONG!' by D.O.
Release: July 7
Label: Company SooSoo
Tier: 4/6
Now we move on to D.O., or Doh Kyung Soo, one of the vocalists of EXO. I'll be honest, I don't have a real opinion on his solo music, unlike with Baekhyun and Kai. Maybe this song might get me interested?
'SING ALONG!' is actually pretty good. It's a chipper, upbeat track, where D.O. tries to lift one's spirits. I don't know if I'm just getting him confused with the other EXO vocalists, but I could've sworn he's a better singer than this. Yeah, he sounds fine, but he doesn't really pop off on this. He sings well, but the melody feels really basic. This track mainly seems to click for its feel-good production, and that's about it. Feel free to check this out if you want.
'Express Mode' by Super Junior
Release: July 8
Label: SM Entertainment
Tier: 5/6
Super Junior's been around for 20 years, now. That's really cool! If you've been following me for a while, you already know this: I'm not an expert on 2nd Gen era k-pop.
But still, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to talk about the legendary Super Junior! I haven't listened to all their title tracks, but the ones I have are really good! These guys seem really cool, and I was intrigued to see them have a comeback.
And yes, 'Express Mode' is a bop! First off, I love the spoken intro from Siwon; don't take this the wrong way, but his voice sounds so sexy! The beat then pulls you into this low EDM-style fizz, letting you enjoy the ride. In other words: this beat is sick! The guys are also great on this track, and I like the lower register they all use for the hook! Speaking of that hook, while yes, it's repetitive, it also does a good job of keeping you engaged. A 100% certified slapper, indeed - even though it's in the Great Tier! Listen to this if you haven't!
'La La Love Me' by VIVIZ
Release: July 8
Label: BPM Entertainment
Tier: 5/6
Remember in the January blog, when I reviewed that GFRIEND reunion track, 'Season of Memories'? It's a great song, even if GFRIEND aren't one of my personal favorite groups. In that review, I brought up how three of their members formed their own group in VIVIZ, which is the group we're looking at right now.
It's funny how I just find GFRIEND to be fine, but I really enjoy VIVIZ! Eunha, SinB and Umji just make a great trio; they all have lovely voices, and they have a mature concept that I can get invested in. And 'La La Love Me' is no exception, as I really love this song! I really like how soft the verses sound, and then the chorus starts to amp up. The girls sound great on this, too! Eunha and Umji have sweet, cooey vocals, while SinB's voice is a bit deeper. And did I mention how catchy the melody is? It's easy to vibe along to, and it's also one of those cases where the "la la la"s aren't very irritating. It's a fun listen, please check it out!
'EVERGLOW' by NOWZ
Release: July 9
Label: CUBE Entertainment
Tier: 5/6
Here's something a little different for me. NOWZ (formerly went by 'NOWADAYS') are a five-member boy band, who debuted last year and are signed to CUBE Ent.. Yes, CUBE - one of the more notorious non-Big 4 companies in South Korea. Unless you're i-dle (or maybe Pentagon), chances are that the label isn't gonna do a good job at promoting your group.
I still haven't gotten the full scope of NOWZ (only started checking them out in preparation for this comeback), but I really like this album's (IGNITION) pre-release track, 'Fly to the youth', which actually features i-dle's Yuqi; I thought it sounded really nice. The title track in 'EVERGLOW' is really excellent! It's a rock ballad-type song, about yearning to be in someone's life, even if they're apart. The guys pull off an angsty, yet raw performance. They do a great job at capturing the emotional scope of the track. Although one thing I'm not a fan of is how the guitars amp up in the post-chorus. They just a bit too harsh for my tastes, reminding me of some of the early 2000's post-grunge tracks. Otherwise, I really love this track! I might need to look into this group's work again.
'JUMP' by BLACKPINK
Release: July 11
Label: YG Entertainment
Tier: 5/6
July 11th was a wild day for releases, starting with BLACKPINK, a.k.a., the comeback of the year! Not the best comeback, mind you, but the comeback. Yes, after over two years since BORN PINK, BLACKPINK have finally released new music as a group! And let me tell you: 'JUMP' is such a breath of fresh air for them!
I like 'How You Like That' and 'Pink Venom', but those songs were forceful, and the type of sound you'd expect from them. This song is loose and full of energy! I love the horns that come in at the drop; they give the track such a festive vibe! The lyrics are fun, too, as they describe a girls' night out, letting you take in the song's atmosphere. Jennie and Lisa don't rap much here, but their charisma and energy are enough to grab your attention. Not to mention Jisoo and Rosé are also invested in this song's vibe, and they're surprisingly a lot of fun as well!
Diplo and Ape Drums (along with three other names) took part in the production, and they did a phenomenal job! I even love the key change near the outro, and your ears get to witness that iconic "BLACKPINK in your area" tagline, and the beat pumps up, hyping you up for a climax...and then it just ends. Yeah...if we actually did a proper climax, or even a bridge, this would've been an easy shoe-in for the Amazing Tier, but it only gets Great, which is fine enough by me. If an album is announced, I hope we get more of this! Nice job, ladies! Great to have you back!
'THIS IS FOR' by TWICE
Release: July 11
Label: JYP Entertainment
Tier: 3/6
And while we're on the topic of 3rd Gen girl groups hyping up women, TWICE are back! Here's a fact you may already know: this group is approaching their 10 year anniversary in October, so that alone makes 2025 really special to them and ONCE. They released their fourth full-length album, THIS IS FOR, their first one since 2021, and I hate to say it, but this title track is just okay.
Were you expecting something worse? Don't get me wrong; I love this group, but 'THIS IS FOR' fell really short for me. And I don't mean just the song length - though two minutes and 11 seconds doesn't do much for me - I mean the atmosphere and TWICE themselves! Let's start with the production: it's a 2000's era-style beat with retro riffs and a smooth bass. While the girls sound nice, a lot of them don't leave much of an impression for me. I know that can be hard with nine members, but still; songs like 'Feel Special' and 'SET ME FREE' have done far better jobs at showing off each member pretty equally (though Nayeon and Jihyo still get the most lines, per usual).
Some select highlights include Chaeyoung, Momo and Mina chanting in the first half of their respective choruses (or whole for Chaeyoung since she opens up the song), along with Nayeon and Jihyo chanting in the second half, and they all sound really infectious. There's some nice vocal work done in the verses, but I feel like they get overshadowed by the adlibs that appear throughout. Not to mention the bloopy synths, which get annoying really fast.
Plus, this is another title track from them that's completely in English, which I'm worried is becoming a trend for this group. The pre-release singles made sense since they (aside from 'I GOT YOU') weren't promoted in South Korea. And 'Strategy' being all-English made some sense; Megan Thee Stallion was on it, after all. But why this song? Western crossover success? Fair enough, I guess, but we also have a third of them's version of 'Takedown', one of the songs from KPop Demon Hunters, and it seems to be doing just fine (I hope).
Again, I love TWICE, but I feel like this song's gonna get lost in the shuffle for me. I hope whatever they do for their 10 year anniversary will be much better than this.
'In Your Fantasy' by ATEEZ
Release: July 11
Label: KQ Entertainment
Tier: 5/6
BLACKPINK, TWICE and ATEEZ on the same day?! Am I in heaven?
Yes, ATEEZ are back again! GOLDEN HOUR: Part. 3 got a reissued pack, complete with an all-English title track! I may be wrong about this, but this might be first time I heard this group sing fully in English.
And man, 'In Your Fantasy' is a bop! This is a very sexy song, with a hot beat and stunning performances from the guys! Sure, some vocal filters are involved, but those can be pretty easy to ignore once the song really kicks in. Hongjoong and Mingi rap in the second verse, and they're both great, per usual, and I like the melodic flow those two ease into. I also enjoy some of the vocals as well! The line "Read between the lines look here, Lucifer / Devil in disguise, we know how this works" from San, Seonghwa, Yeosang and Wooyoung respectively is gonna be iconic, mark my words. Yunho and Jongho sound great in the chorus, as well!
ATEEZ recently renewed their contracts at KQ Ent., and if it means we get more songs like this, I'm all for it! Well done, guys!
'CHILLER' by NCT DREAM
Release: July 14
Label: SM Entertainment
Tier: 4/6
Of all the units in NCT, DREAM are by far my favorite. I normally call NCT as a whole "hit or miss", but DREAM feels the most consistent for me, and they sound the most approachable out of all the units.
Anyways, NCT DREAM are back with a new album, and let me just say - 'BTTF' is an awesome pre-release track! That song is a thrill ride! Unfortunately, I'm not reviewing that song here. Instead, we're looking at the title track, 'CHILLER', which isn't as stellar, but still really good in its own right. The song goes for a futuristic vibe, (which given the theme of the album, makes sense) and while it starts off a bit wonky, it starts to pick up after the first verse. I love how catchy the chorus is, and I especially like bits of harmonizing at the end of each line! I also like how two pairs of members trade lines in their halves of every chorus, as well; it sounds so cool!
There's not much else to say other than it's a pretty typical flexing/dance to the music type track. I also wish some of the lines from Jeno and Jisung could've flown better, but other than that, it's a fun track. Much better than their singles from last year, I'll tell you that!
'Farewell for now!' by JO YURI
Release: July 14
Label: WAKEONE
Tier: 6/6
Jo Yuri: she started out as the main vocalist of IZ*ONE and made her solo debut in 2021. Her singles are cute, and she has a sweet, soothing voice. This is her first comeback since 2023, and do you want to know why she had a year-long hiatus from the music scene? She was starring in the second and third seasons of SQUID GAME, and while I haven't seen the show, from what I read online, people really liked her character there.
Getting back on track, Yuri's back with a new mini album, and I don't think I would've picked a better title track to return with, because 'Farewell for now!' is beautiful! While her previous work focused on a more poppier sound, this song takes a different approach, going for a soft rock ballad. In other words: it's a k-drama OST-type song. Yuri's vocals really shine here, as she looks back on a relationship and reminisces on how much she misses her ex-partner. It's one of those songs where if you're in a room by yourself, listening to this song will make you transcend. Another aspect I like about this song is that aside from the ending line on the bridge, this song is entirely in Korean; and considering three of the songs I reviewed in this blog so far were all in English, it's a nice refresher!
If you haven't yet, please give her music a listen! She's criminally underrated and well worth your time!
'ANIMALS' by ONEW
Release: July 15
Label: Griffin Entertainment
Tier: 4/6
Onew is the leader and main vocalist of SHINee; that's all I know about him so far. He officially made his solo debut in 2018 and he just recently dropped a new album. This is the first solo track of his I heard, and it's a pretty solid first impression!
'ANIMALS' is about encouraging the listener to loosen up and have fun, getting lost in the music as the party goes on. I really like how the acoustic guitar kicks into the beat during the chorus, and Onew himself sounds really nice, too. His vocals are more low-key here, but I don't mind that. Maybe I might check out more of his work down the line? We'll see.
'DOREMI' by PURPLE KISS
Release: July 16
Label: RBW
Tier: 3/6
Back to the groups, and here, we have PURPLE KISS, a six-member girl group who debuted in 2021 with a really cool horror concept. I really like this group; the girls have impressive vocals and Yuki's a solid rapper, and when they lean into the horror style of their music, they really knock it out of the park (think 'Nerdy', 'Sweet Juice' and maybe 'ON MY BIKE')! They're very underrated, and I hope you give them a listen if you haven't!
Anyways, PURPLE KISS are back with a single album, and its title track is just fine. The plucking music box instrumental in the beginning is a bit overwhelming, but that thankfully goes away once the pre-chorus kicks in. 'DOREMI' seems to be about dancing to the melody of the music, and I wish I was invested in the production a lot more, because I feel like the trap elements that appear throughout are also pretty distracting. If I want to dance to a song that's supposed to sound sweet, I wouldn't want bloopy trap beats in there, you know? The girls sing well, as always. I mentioned that they're impressive, but their vocals are more delicate, something you would want for a waltzy track. For me, Goeun and Swan are the easy stand-outs in terms of vocals. They're (along with Chaein) the main vocalists, so I guess that's not much of a surprise. This is a nice song; check this one out.
'awesome' by ARrC
Release: July 16
Label: Mystic Story
Tier: 4/6
This is ARrC, a seven-member boy band who debuted last year and come from Mystic Story, the company you might know for the girl group, Billlie. I only started hearing these guys earlier this year, and their previous comeback, 'nu kidz', was okay, but nothing to write home about.
Now this 'awesome' as "awesome" as it claims to be (yeah, that was bad)? No, but it's still pretty good. First off, I really like this song's message, as it's about how despite some bad luck, the guys try to keep a positive attitude as they go through their day. It kind of reminds me of IVE's 'ATTITUDE' from earlier this year, except that song was better produced and was backed by a group with charisma. ARrC themselves are fine, but some of the vocal inflections and rap flows in the verses can get annoying. Heck, the aspect I like the most is the production, which goes for this old-school hip-hop beat. It sounds fun, and I like how it intensifies in the second chorus. Overall, I think this is fine. If you're interested, give this one a listen.
'Beautiful Strangers' by TXT
Release: July 21
Label: HYBE - Big Hit Music
Tier: 4/6
Alright, TXT are back, and I think I need to reevaluate my take on them. I reviewed them in May, and I said that while their not one of my personal favorite boy bands, I still like a lot of songs from them. On one hand, they should be one of my ults, as their best tracks give you an emotional gut-punch. But on the other, some of their tracks fall into the "blandly good" category - songs I like, but don't stick out in my mind. That's kind of the issue I have with a number of HYBE originals, which is why I have a hard time getting invested in ENHYPEN or LE SSERAFIM, maybe ILLIT to an extent.
'Beautiful Strangers' is a mix of both of those takes. I love this song's subject matter, as it's about love and trust between people, even though difficult times. The guys also sound wonderful on this; I'm surprised Taehyun stood out as well as he did! Yeonjun and Huening Kai even have their moments. I also really like that EDM buzz that comes in at the post-chorus; it sounds so cool! On the downside, I hate how the song just abruptly ends at the second post-chorus. You'd think that there would be a build-up to a bridge or climax, but that just doesn't happen! I just seem to have a hard time processing all the good parts because of it.
I don't know where TXT are heading next, or if they're heading anywhere at all, but I'm starting to get worried. For me, they haven't had a great title track since 'Deja Vu', and I hope they end up on that path again.
'I WANT IT' by STAYC
Release: July 23 (music video released July 21)
Label: High Up Entertainment
Tier: 5/6
I have a confession to make: 'BEBE's shrinking on me. I wanted to enjoy that song, but some of the vocal performances (mainly from Sieun) felt so off to me that it was hard for me to take seriously. The thing is, if STAYC want to go in a more mature route, this is the way to do it!
Yes, I actually enjoy 'I WANT IT'. It's a pop-rock style summer track, with some EDM flair. Something I really like about this group is that even though none of them are technically the best vocalists ever, they still have this charming and bubbly personality in their deliveries. Aside from J, I guess, whose role is the token deep-voiced member meant to give off an edge. The girls sound a lot more natural on this track, and man, Sieun really redeems herself here! Her siren voice is fun, but it's more toned down; I especially enjoy her rap in the second verse. Isa and Yoon have some stand-out moments as well, from the first verse to the bridge, where Yoon is about to hit a high note until it gets cut off. Why?! She would've been impressive there! I guess Sumin and Seeun are fine as well, but they don't stand out to me like the other four do.
Also, there's this beeping sound at the end of each pre-chorus, and I have no idea why it's there. They're not swearing, otherwise the beep would make sense in that context. Still, this is an excellent track and one of STAYC's best singles in a while! Check this one out if you haven't.
'SLAM DUNK' by ZEROBASEONE
Release: July 23
Label: WAKEONE
Tier: 5/6
ZEROBASEONE are releasing their first full-length album in September, and believe me, I'll review the title track to NEVER SAY NEVER when the time comes. But for now, let's look at the pre-release track.
'SLAM DUNK' is a lot of fun! It's an EDM and hip-hop blended track using basketball metaphors to describe ZB1 for taking down their competition. I'm not sure about chart success in South Korea, but singles-wise, they're one of the better 5th Gen boy bands. It makes for them to make a song like this, and it pays off well! The chanting hook is fun, and the rapping, mainly from Gyuvin, Gunwook and Yujin, sound great, too. I don't know what else I can say! The guys just sound really cool! Give it a listen!
'Stylish' by THE BOYZ
Release: July 28
Label: ONE HUNDRED
Tier: 0/6
Back in March, I listed 'VVV' as one of THE BOYZ' best title tracks. It was full of energy and felt very celebratory. Unfortunately, that's the last time we see THE BOYZ as...THE BOYZ. Leader Sangyeon enlisted in the military band that month, but that's inevitable; these things happen. Then, in June, ONE HUNDRED announced that Ju Haknyeon left the group. Something about him being seen with a woman, which, I guess, goes against the company's "anti-dating" rule, even though these guys are grown ass men, some of whom are my age!
That devastated a lot of people, and it hurts even more that their new title track sucks. 'Stylish' is a horrible track, with a trap beat that might sound cool on paper, but it ends up sounding way too hard to sound edgy. The edginess of a song needs to be natural; not this stiff, intimidating beat that makes me feel like I'm trapped in a dark room! THE BOYZ have had their dud singles before (such as 'THRILL RIDE' and 'WHISPER'), but those songs at least tried to sound fun. And speaking of THE BOYZ, I don't like how any of them sound here, either! What flow are they going for? The repetition of "guap", "shot" and "bubble gum pop" in the chorus get old really fast, and I feel like I'm listening to the worst parts of 2013 hip-hop! For a song that's called 'Stylish', we can leave this one in the trash. They have so many other songs you could be listening to instead.
'Being a Good Girl Hurts' by YENA
Release: July 29
Label: Yuehua Entertainment
Tier: 4/6
Check it out - another former IZ*ONE member making a k-drama-esque title track! Honestly, of all the members of that group who went solo, Yena is by far my favorite. While she didn't stand out much during her time in that group, she made the most out of her solo music, being the perfect blend of cute and edgy!
'Being a Good Girl Hurts' leans more towards the cute side of her style, and while the k-drama vibe doesn't reach the same high as that Yuri song from earlier, it's still really good! Aside from the "da-da-da"s in the post-chorus, the lyrics are sung entirely in Korean, being about how Yena desperately years to be with this person. One thing that draws me towards Yena is her voice, which has this cute, almost squeaky tone that ends up being adorable. Her vocals aren't technically amazing, but she has a very likeable presence. I also really like the production on this song; from the opening piano notes, to the strings that swell right into the first pre-chorus. I even enjoy the key change in the final chorus, as it feels very grandiose!
And yet, I ranked this in the Good Tier. Why is that? I think despite my praises for this track, it just comes in one ear and out the other. Do I see myself listening to this in the long run like some of Yena's other tracks? I still like this song, but it's not one of my personal favorites. I like that she tried something different, but this one won't stick out overtime.
'Waste No Time' by XngHan&Xoul
Release: July 31
Label: SM Entertainment
Tier: 5/6
So... remember when I reviewed RIIZE in May, and I said that the group originally had seven members? That seventh member was Seunghan. During his time in that group, he ended up having to go on hiatus due to leaked images of him with a woman, and they were intimate ones, too. The hiatus lasted for over ten months, and he was set to return in October of last year, but then some fans started complaining, and he ended up leaving RIIZE entirely. Even if Seunghan didn't stand out to me much in the earliest days in that group, it's really sad his journey had to end like that.
He's still under SM, but now he's a soloist, going under the name, "XngHan", and "Xoul", I believe are the two back-up dancers that joined him for his solo career. And what do I think of this debut? It's fantastic! 'Waste No Time' is a two-step (I think) type beat, about living life to the fullest with this person XngHan is seeing. The production is fast-paced, yet it feels smooth at the same time, and XngHan sounds great on this! His vocals sound nice (in spite of some unnecessary vocal filters), and he keeps up with the beat extremely well. The hook may be on the repetitive side, but I don't mind that here. All I can say is that this is a great first impression of him. Please give him a chance! I'm happy to see XngHan still in the k-pop world, and I can't wait to see what he does next!
---
And that's July for you! I reviewed 22 songs, the most I've done for any blog! If you were able to read through them all, thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
Now...why was this month rough for me to get through? Early on into the month, my grandma passed away. It's been really hard for our family, and we were pretty close. When I'm not working, I've been passing my free time watching fancams of multiple k-pop idols, something I'm starting to get back into.
Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about my upcoming "K-Pop in Canada" blog. I'm about halfway finished with it, and depending on circumstances, I'm hoping to have it finished by the end of September. I'm working really hard on it, and I want it to be the absolute best!
In the meantime, if you enjoyed this blog, make sure you follow me here and all my social media accounts so you don't miss out! August will be next, and hopefully, it shouldn't be too busy- actually, wait... Stray Kids are coming back, and depending on how their release turns out, prepare for me to go full "fangirl" mode. In other words: I'm really excited!
